Portland Holiday Events for Everyone!

The Santaland Diaries– For a slightly different take on the Christmas experience, checkout this performance based on the true chronicles of David Sedaris’ experience as Crumpet the Elif in Macy’s Santaland display! Gerding Theater at the Armory 11/29-12/31-website

Christmas Ships Parade– One of the highlights of the Portland holiday season is the Christmas Ship Parade where ships of all kinds are out on the Willamette and Columbia River decorated with all kinds of lights. 12/3-12/20- Evenings-website

The Queen Anne Victorian Mansion– A spectacular light display with over 2 million lights! There are also Christmas trees and decorations on show. 1441 N McClellan St – 12/14-12/26- website

Winter Wonderland Light Show– At the Portland International Raceway. This is a great animated light show where you also get to stay warm and cozy in your car while checking it all out! PIR 11/24-12/25- 5-9pm, 11pm weekends- website

Peacock Lane– This quaint SE neighborhood is adorned with beautiful sparkling light, nativity scenes, rotating Christmas trees and replicas of Santa and Frosty. Peacock Ln (between Belmont and Stark) Portland – 12/15-12/30, 6-11pm, 12/24 and 12/31 6-12pm- website

Zoolights– Every year the Oregon Zoo is alive in holiday lights, over half a million lights. Take a train ride to check out everything while you’re there. The Polar Express– Read along with the story as the train makes its magical journey to the North Pole. Meet Santa and enjoy caroling, hot cocoa, a treat and a special gift for each child. Wear your pajamas! Mt. Hood Railroad-Hood River,-11/12-12/28- website

Pittock Mansion– Christmas around the world is the theme for this year where multi-cultural Christmas traditions will be highlighted. Checkout the dazzling decorations and more than 15 festive trees! Pittock Mansion-11/21-1/2/12-website

Nutcracker-Join Marie and the Nutcracker Prince on their magical journey to the realm of the Sugarplum Fairy, where candy confections spring to life and holiday dreams come true. Keller Auditorium- 12/10-12/24- website
